About Cartoonist Jamie Sale
Cartoonist From Essex
Cartooning is something I have always had a keen interest in, even from a very young age. I always used to love sketching Simpsons characters and any other cartoons I had an interest in at the time. Gradually, these cartoon styles helped me develop my own style.
Since mid 2006 I have been selling cartoons online in the form of gifts at Custom Cartoons. It has been very successful, particularly in the last 2 years. If you're looking to order a cartoon or caricature as a personalised gift, then please visit Custom Cartoons at www.CustomCartoons.co.uk.
In January 2011, I opted to open a cartoon studio under the name 'ToonJam Studios Ltd' and has now become the name I trade under. As company director, I'm currently
seeking young, talented cartoonists who I can help build a profile for. This way, they will be able to sell their work and get their careers rolling. I definitely would have appreciated something like this a few years ago as a budding cartoonist.
Future As A Cartoonist
Because I live in Essex, I have easy access to London. This is particularly
helpful as it means I can travel for work. Although saying that, I would happily travel out of Essex and London and go far beyond for cartoon related work.
My studio is based in Essex and I can use a wide selection of software. My abilities lie with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Dreamweaver and many more. I am currently learning how to use Toon Boom software in order to finally animate my cartoons. Animation is probably my ultimate goal long term.
I'm currently writing a book, 'How to Draw Cartoons' which is exactly what the title says. There will be approximately 200 pages worth of content that's aimed at new cartoonists and more serious cartoonists.
The book also contains advice on how to put yourself out as a cartoonist. I aim to have this book completed by summer 2013.
